Instructional Access

Windows Environment

Several virtual machines are provided for Graduate Research Assistants who need to access the CSE Windows Instructional Environment from their research computer. These virtual machines are similar to the computers in the CSE labs. The virtual machines are named RAPC1 – RAPC9.

Access to these virtual machines is restricted by Windows group membership. Graduate Research Assistants requiring access to the RAPCs should have their faculty advisor contact the Help Desk to authorize access to the RAPCs.

UNIX Environment

The CSE Computing Staff maintain a firewall which only permits encrypted traffic from outside the CSE Instructional Network. In order to connect to the CSE Instructional UNIX environment from the Research Network, users must use encrypted protocols like ssh. Details on remotely connecting to the UNIX environment are available here.
