Microsoft Azure

The CSE Department maintains a subscription to the Microsoft Azure Dev Tools for Teaching, through which CSE Faculty, Staff, and all students may obtain copies of Microsoft software titles at no charge.

Eligibility

CSE Faculty, Staff and all  students are eligible for Microsoft Azure Education service .

Software Availability

Most Microsoft software titles are available via secure download from the Microsoft Azure Dev Tools for Teaching, including Windows and Windows Server Versions, Visual Studio, Visio, Project, Expression, SharePoint and SharePoint Server, SQL Server and Exchange Server, Hyper V etc. Note Microsoft Office is not included.

Restrictions

Software obtained from the Microsoft Azure Dev Tools for Teaching may be installed on personally owned computers or research machines. It may not be installed on instructional desktops.

Accessing Microsoft Azure Dev Tools for Teaching

Sign into the Microsoft Azure Dev Tools for Teaching using your OSU username and password. After you sign in you should see the Education - Overview page. Click on Software in the second column to see the available software listed in the third column. You can search for particular software using the search features at the top of the third column. When you click on the name of the desired software, information about the software will be displayed in an overlay on the right. In that pane there will be a button to view the product key and a button to download an ISO for the software. You will need to save the product key to use the software.

If you navigate away from the Education pages, you can return by clicking on All serivces in the left column. The second column will contain a list of service groups. Click on Management + governance and then Education in the third column.
