Applied and computational topology - from theory though algorithms to solutions of real problems
In this talk I will present a few applications of topology I am working on: starting from application in computational neuroscience and medical image analysis and recognition to material sciences and dynamical systems. I will talk about all the components that are essential in my research: the theory that need to be developed or adjusted to a given problem, efficient algorithms that need to be implemented and real world data that they are operating on. Taking those as an unit gives a topological toolbox to explore geometry and topology hidden in in the universe.
