Best Student Paper Award at International Conference on Utility and Cloud Computing 2017 (UCC 2017)

A paper by Ph.D. student Jie Zhang with his advisors Dr. Xiaoyi (Research Scientist) Lu and Prof. Dhabaleswar K (DK) Panda from the Network-Based Computing Laboratory won the Best Paper Award at the 10th IEEE/ACM International Conference on conference Utility and Cloud Computing 2017 (UCC 2017). The paper, titled “Is Singularity-based Container Technology Ready for Running MPI Applications on HPC Clouds?” carries out an in-depth study of the emerging Singularity-based Container Technology for running MPI applications with the Singularity support in the MVAPICH2 MPI library.
